The Asus 1215b is the latest notebook that was announced in at the CES 2011 show in the Las Vegas in January. The Asus 1215b comes with 12 inch screen and in looks is seems to be bigger than the 10.1 inch Asus 1015b notebook. The 12.1 inch screen size blurs the differentiation between the Notebook and the netbook.

Asus 1215b comes with the latest AMD’s Zacate E-350 processor. If we go by AMD’s lingo, the E-350 is called APU or the Accelerated Processing Unit. The APU is formed by “fusion” of the CPU and the graphics unit. The terms processor is still being used for E-350, as APU is term is still not popular en masse. So the term processor, CPU and APU will continue to be used for some more time to come.

Anyway the Zacate E-350 has two cores and is clocked at 1.6 GHz. The most important feature is the integrated graphics which will play the HD graphics decently. It is more powereful than Atom processors from Intel and its graphics performance is phenomenal compared to the price at which this APU is available.
